Curriculum
The Tools in Their Hands
Triad searchs for curriculum written from a Christian world view while being academically challenging.

Reading is where it begins.  In Kindergarten and First grade we use Saxon reading; this is strong phonics based reading program.  In first grade we also add Science Reading Laboratories (SRA) a scientific approach to teaching reading speed and comprehension.  In Second grade through Sixth grade we add classic literature like Charlotte's Web and Where the Red Fern Grows.  All of this is designed to develop strong readers who love reading.

The key component to Triad’s writing program is the writing itself.  We write, write, write at every grade level.  Our goal is to create student writers who are not afraid to put pen to paper.

In Math we use Saxon from First grade to Twelfth. The Saxon program creates strong math students who are well prepared to take the SAT.

In Science and History elementary programs Triad uses Activity Based Curriculum designed to give students an in-depth, hands on understanding of the topic of the day.

Language arts at the Junior High and High School level are taught with a strong emphasis on writing backed up with classical literature from America and around the world.

For junior high and high school science and history Triad uses a variety publishers based on which publisher produces the best tool. We look for a Christian worldview and quality of content.  In a few instances we do not use a Christian publisher.
