All-State Honor Band
Every year Triad's musical directors nominate a group of students in the Jr. High and High School to attend musical honors performances. This year, 7th grader Helen Harris and 8th grader Madison McCuiston were nominated by Christina Wehr, the choir instructor, to attend all-state choir, which is part of the Oregon Music Educator's Association or OMEA conference. Matthew Hoffman, the band and orchestra instructor, also nominated a handful of students to play in the instrumental counterparts of this all-state performance. David Adkisson, Dillon Claybaugh, Emily Rutledge and Adrienne Gurske were nominated to perform.
The OMEA conference also has a high school section which is entered only through audition. This year Triad had its very first student admitted to the high school all-state band, Amy Li was selected to play the flute in the symphonic band.
Hoops for Hope
Hoops of Hope is the world’s largest free-throw marathon. Similar to a walk-a-thon, participants raise awareness and funds for children who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS by shooting free throws. 100 percent of all funds raised through these free-throw marathons go directly to care for orphan children in highly affected areas. This year, sixth graders, Eli Builta and Blake Bay, organized this event here at Triad on December 1 ~ Aids Awareness Day. Eighteen Triad students shot 500 free throws each to raise approximately $1,700. It was a great day and a great event! We look forward to this 2011 event being the first of many.

Girls win Mountain Valley League opener
Girls begin league play 1-0
Boys win Mountain Valley League opener
Boys start league play 1-0
Girls take 2nd place at Holiday Hoops
Triad girls take 2nd place in the 8 team Holiday Hoops Classic, falling to league foe Hosanna Christian. The girls defeated Tulelake and Umqua Valley Christian to advance to the Championship game. Great job girls!
